longing 4 johnny

So to everyone who read my last post, THANK YOU TIMES A MILLION! It sparked such an interesting conversation and such a wide span of ideas and opinions in the comments section. It was so great reading everything you guys had to say. If you haven't already, you may just want to go and read the comments if you haven't seen them all yet.

I feel like my blog is kind of an art/fashion/philosophy blog. Practically all my posts entwine my opinion on SOMETHING, and how said thing pisses me off or inspires me or is total crap. School literally just started a week ago and I've already had one panic attack and it SUCKED BALLZ. I feel like my parents have been treating me like I'm this tedious object prone to explosion because of it, and it's so annoying. Like, I'm fine. And lately I've literally just been like a machine, drawing and collaging and making SO MUCH STUFF. It's kind of like catharsis for me; it's just hella therapeutic. And I've literally been on a pepper drawing rampage. It's weird!!!! I just LOVE drawing peppers. I also really like drawing weird looking people, like below. I'm probably capable of drawing a much more realistic portrait of a person, but I'm too lazy to try. I also like big features and messiness in art and imperfections, because imperfections just humanize everything.

And also, one thing that bothers me about fashion and style in general, is that how you dress defines you. If you wear booty shorts and crop tops, you're labeled as a slut. If you dress nerdy, you're a nerd, etc. It sucks how society views fashion and the ways in which fashion is associated with one's character and personality. If I wear booty shorts and a crop top it's BECAUSE I FEEL LIKE IT. It's not because I'm trying to look hot4boys. If I wear long skirts and look matronly, I'M NOT A MOTHER. I'm just wearing clothes that look cool. If I'm lazy I'm not even gonna TRY looking cool in any way because I'm just not feeling it and I don't care. Clothes shouldn't define a person, and yet they seem to. Like, what the fuck society.

ALSO ALSO: LISTEN TO THE PLAYLIST IT'S BEAUTIFUL AND AMAZING AND IS JUST PERRREEEFFFFCCTTTT SLSL:KHGLDK:HGDLK:HG I LOVE IT. YOU WILL LOVE IT. YOU NEED TO LISTEN TO IT.

I don't really like this one. I'll probably change it.

and then it starts to feel like summer

Summer is officially here! I feel so free and excited! My life is now full of endless possibilities for exploration and adventure and aesthetic pleasures without the stresses of high school looming over my head like a curse. Since yesterday was my FIRST OFFICIAL DAY OF SUMMER, I really tried to indulge myself in the eccentricities of the hiatus. I ate some pasta, made videos of myself singing, blog surfed, went to Safeway, ate some pizza bagels, drank some coconut milk and some coconut water, went to my friend's house for 2 hours, read poetry, listened to Call Me Maybe, vimeo-surfed, and then I listened to some AMAZING TUNES via 8tracks. It was quite the venture.

Other than that though, I've been staring at my room analyzing the colors and trinket assortments. I really don't like it. Like, I really don't like ANY OF IT. It basically describes my 13 year-old self, who was a person I am now quite unfamiliar with. My room is just disgusting. It's barf-y and not expressive of my current self, and it's quite the frustration! I'm going to do a room makeover this summer. Get rid of the explosive color vomit, neaten up my trinkets, change my bed spread perhaps, get some lace curtains, decorate the walls, and organize my clutter into an appealing setup. (AND TODAY WAS MY BROTHER'S GRADUATION! He is officially a college student! I'm so proud of him! I gave him an OMG! You Graduated! balloon and I think he thoroughly enjoyed it. He went to a catholic high school, because all Jews go to catholic high schools, der, and I guess it's like a catholic high school tradition to smoke cigars after you throw your hats into the air and all that crud, and he let me try his cigar. It was kind of cool. I felt quite... Audrey Hepburn/Marilyn Monroe classy. Just all those vibes of awesome old hollywood stars smoking cigarettes and shizz in movies and sterf. I also had some Mad Men vibes going too. Just a great vibe-ular afternoon.)

Some cool tunes full of great vibes. Enjoy.

16 Candles

I am officially 16 years old! I am at the pinnacle of my teenage years, and let me tell you, life is going swell. My birthday was on May 19, but I'm just getting around to posting about it because I really wanted to experience the essence of being 16 before I made a post about it and all the awesome shit that comes along with it.

First of all, I can finally sing along to this amazing song and have it actually be true! I am OFFICIALLY 16 going on 17. It feels great, I must say!

Second, I can actually have my license now! This isn't to say that I actually have my license, let alone my permit, but once I get my license I am free to venture into the world of Teen Road Trips! I actually had a conversation about this with my friend a few weeks ago, and he and I agreed that you cannot be a so called "teenager" without having the teen road trip experience of friends/no parents/adventure/soda pop/old beachie music/beaches/BOYS. Yup. Life is Life.

Third, I can actually watch Sixteen Candles and (since my family didn't forget my birthday) actually live vicariously through Molly since, in fact, her character is 16 while I am also 16! THE EXCITEMENT IS OVERWHELMING FOKES!

My birthday was moderately fun though. I say moderately fun because my friend's friend hung out with us for like, six hours. So I'm just going to tell you what happened and pretend like she wasn't there. I hung out with my two best friends, and we looked all cool and awesome. I wore this thrifted floral flannel, a hippie-headband-scarf-thing my mom gave me that morning for my birthday, some Doc Marten mary janes, and this little woven backpack I thrifted. And pants. Obviously.

My friend Sammy and her mom gave me this really pretty pink peony flower that I still have, and my mom gave me a bouquet of flowers too! They're in my room as we speak! Just permeating my room with flowery, springtime essences of joy! My other friend, Seána, got me this really pretty necklace that I broke and am meaning to fix, and then I got a camera from my parents, yay! Better quality blog photos coming soon, friends! Anyway, my friends and I went to this park and chilled on a field with tons of other hippie-esque people. Everyone in the park seemed to be stoned, but they were all really chill and nice and people were playing music and strumming their guitars and I was just totally overwhelmed with 60s/70s vibes. It was awesome. After that my friends and I went to eat at In N' Out Burger and it was tremendously satisfactory and delicious. We got to stare at random high schoolers going to their prom, decked out in ugly satin dresses with sequins.

Me looking glorious on my birthday!

Enjoy your lives, my humanoids! Summer is upon us! Life is, finally, life! The thrill awaits!
