take me to paradise

Here is a collection of paradise inspiring photos for summertime. I, being a city dweller year round, meaning no vacations whatsoever, have made it my duty to discover a paradise within my city, full of retro/vintage/grunge vibes, and maybe even little bits of Disneyland-ness here or there. If only good ol' Walt wasn't a misogynist/anti-semitic dick face, Disneyland might be a lil' more enjoyable. But I am willing to ignore the horrid side of Walt, and focus on the awesome side of Walt, which is the side that created DISNEYLAND! Walt should totally be added to the It's Complicated zine. Also, I think my perfect paradise for the summer would be a nice vintage/old fashioned/retro diner, with red leather booths and milk shakes and black/white tiled floors and cheap food I can afford and cool wall décor and vintage photos all over the walls!

AHHHHHHHHDGKLHSAUIEHG:LKA. I'm so unbelievably in love with this photo you have no idea OMG. Ugh, look at the 70s colors that have appeared to be kissed by the sun! The beautiful Burger King sign that is rocking life to the max, the striped walls that remind me of that striped gum that tastes amazing, and the awesome yellow taxi with the dent! MAGAZINES SUCK. Like, seriously? I hate Seventeen magazine. It's seriously such a piece of crap vomit that it's not even worthy of being ITALICIZED. In fact, my new favorite hobby is spitting on it and chewing up the pages and then letting my stomach acid digest them further before I barf them up because they're too disgusting to actually digest so then I stomp them into the dirt and poop on them, because unlike Seventeen, I care about important stuff! Like the environment, and good, organic fertilizer! Seventeen is seriously the worst piece of butt hole ever. Can I just smack the magazine in the face and injure it? Really, I can?!?!?! Okay. *Punches magazine super hard and makes it BLEED because all humans have the capability of punching the same and I can punch like a man and a man can punch like me because we both punch HARD.*

I'm in desperate need of some cool feminist zines and magazines that are awesome. I'm already a huge fan of Rookie, but I want something tangible! Something I can sniff and hold and cradle like a baby in times of need! Something I can tack to my wall or put in my "Special Items and Tangible Objects I Deeply Care for and Cherish with all my Heart" box. Something that inspires me to be brave and be a feminist and appreciate and love who I am and brush away a few insecurities here or there!

Does anybody have a free or inexpensive zine they sell or giveaway for free? Or any awesome magazine recommendations that are about women EMPOWERMENT rather than attempting to conform women and girls to be stupid societal shit? And I also would really like some cool fashion magazine recommendations that don't suck. I've heard of Shameless magazine, which seems kind of cool, but it also seems a bit more adult, and I'm not sure my level of maturity would be equal to that of the maturity level of Shameless magazine. I've been trying to get some Sassy's off ebay but they're just so dang expensive! And I'm so dang broke! So yeah, any recommendations or generous people* out there are much appreciated and welcome to share their wisdom of awesome magazines or zines about feminism! Cool fashion/artsy magazine recommendations that don't suck are also welcome because I love art and fashion magazines that are about the ART and the FASHION and AESTHETICS rather than stupid stuff that sucks.

If anybody wants to do a swap of some sort, I'm open to that too! I've been trying to make a zine but it's coming along slowly, so I'd have to send you other cool stuff.

Also, I recently got some vintage National Geographic magazines that are BEAUTIFUL. One is from the 1930s, and the other is from the 1950s, and I'm going to post pictures ASAP. They are seriously the most beautiful things in the world! I want to kiss them and hold them and lick them and devour their pages with my mind!

green eyebrows and vibes

So today I did many a fun thing, but I'll discuss those things later in life (tomorrow) because I want to direct all my focus towards something AMAZING.

I decided to stalk some delicious designers and clothing via style.com about 5 minutes. I thought I'd look at the Marc Jacobs collection, but then I saw MEADHAM AND KIRCHHOFF and I was like OOH EVEN BETTER (no offense, Marc. You're still ZE MAN to me.) So as I'm looking at these amazing clothes I'm actually DYING INSIDE. I was getting so many vibes from their previous collection, along with Rayanne Graff vibes and Creatures of the Wind vibes and my vibe meter was just exploding and dancing with the skill and precision only attainable by the one and only Sam Shakusky.

Soooooooo pretty. Princess Chelsea is rad.

Vibes via Creatures of the Wind! With all the collars and the plaids and the crazy layering how could you not reference COTW?

Her jacket has an actual MONSTER ON IT (Where the Wild Things Are vibe connection.) And they have all these super cute patches all over their denim attire! Not to mention their hair is quite similar to that of George Washington.

Alien vibes. I love that intense peter pan collar and the semi-see through part of the dress with the colorful tiers and awesome drapery. I like her red face and her bow as well, she reminds me a ton of Dr. Seuss. Dr. Seuss vibes! Look at that thing coming out of her head! And her beautiful red skin, I love it!

I took this photo the other day because I covered my eyebrows in green glitter goop and I just looked SUPER COOL (I made that crown [it happens to have googley eyes on it because I have crown swag] and I'll be selling it on my etsy account asap! It will soon be filled to the brim with awesome crowns and cool creations created by me as I create them at rapid speed while being creative!) (woah props to me for using so many variations of the word CREATE.) If I ever get to go to fashion week (hint, hint...) I'm definitely going to wear green glitter on my eyebrows, because I actually think it looks really pretty! Especially with my wobbly looking lipstick and my pink rose earrings that are super vintage looking and semi broken.
