i'm being possessed by a muppet

Killer Muppet fashion is definitely in. I mean, crazy collars, bold colors, the mass murder of televisions most beloved childhood T.V characters...

So this is the outfit I wore to my internship today and it's obvious I was clearly channeling my inner 5 year old by sporting a duck necklace and muppet-esc hair bow.

I can't explain why, but wearing this crocheted yarn bow around my head really made me feel like a muppet from good ol' Sesame Street. Guess I just had a deep connection... or something...

In honor of my duck necklace, thought I'd try the classic "sitting duck pose." Effort? Check. Success? In question.

One hot ninja kick.

Check out my oh so fabulous floral hightop sneakers. I'm kind of obsessed with them, and they go with EVERYTHING. Got them at Cotton On for $18+tax. Seriously, people. If you want the cutest shoes in the world, C.O is your go-to place.

i like wearing pins on my shorts

Finally I'm posting my first RECENT outfit. I shot it in this tiny little courtyard thing that's in the very center of my house. When there are huge rainstorms, leaves and other crap get stuck in this courtyard and it clogs the drain and the courtyard floods, so my dad has to go out in the rain and sweep the drain so all the water will stop flooding the courtyard, and go back into the sewers where it belongs. So ANYWAY, I took some pictures there today.

Me, wearing some pink DIY shorts my friend made me, black HUE leggings, a white shirt I got at a random store called Xpose, a DIY crochet hair thing, Cotton On floral shoes, a pin my grandma gave me, and some random ribbon I threaded through the "used to be jean jacket" vest that I cut, which is from Children's Place and STILL fits me.

Me with the vest OFF, wearing the same stuff as before.

i would definitely stalk a rabbit, accidentally fall down a hole, and eagerly await the fall until i land haphazardly in wonderland, wouldn't you?

Long titles equal long and rant-worthy posts, so sit back, get your artificially flavored microwave popcorn ready, and prepare to read and gawk in awe. Clearly, since this blog is very knew, and those of you reading (if anyone is reading) are unaware of my unhealthy obsession with anything and everything to do with Alice in Wonderland, you will finally be able to understand my love for the story when reading this post. Not only do I day dream endlessly about the fabulous costumes, plot, and hidden meaning behind the story, but I am endlessly and obsessively googling for Alice in Wonderland inspired collections, clothes, hairstyles, makeup, and more.
For those of you who aren't familiar with the oscar-winning, Alice in Wonderland costume designing genius, her name is Colleen Atwood. Her designs are whimsical and TO DIE FOR gorgeous. I kind of would do anything to get my hands on one of her pieces.

If you want an idea of just how amazing the Alice in Wonderland movie is, here are a few quotes that may suffice your curiosity.

"Sorry, Hamish. Can't marry you. You're not the right man for me. Sorry if that troubles your digestion." -Alice Kingsley

"I'm investigating things that begin with the letter M." -The Mad Hatter

The Mad Hatter: "Have I gone mad?"

(Alice checks hatters temperature)

Alice: "I'm afraid so. You're entirely bonkers. But I'll tell you a secret. All the best people are."

Be ready for about a zillion pictures. I have some sketches and the finished costumes. If you haven't watched the Alice in Wonderland movie, directed by Tim Burton, you better go watch it because then you will be able to understand, and rant with me, about my obsession.

Suppose this would be a design for the Red Queen, yet again, love it.

Some random designs, all either for Alice, the Red Queen, White Queen, or any of those other female characters, I'm assuming. All give me the sense of a little gothic inspiration, which I love.

Here is the oh so sexy Johnny Depp, as The Mad Hatter.

Here are some designs for Alice. Lovin' the first one, def my fav from the entire movie.

Now for the final designs/costumes. White Queen, rockin' the white hair and the princess dress, while Alice is in the midst of fighting the Jabberwocky, looking all badass and fierce in her metal armor.

EHMAGAWDD (mimics annoying teenage girls who think they are the shiz, but really aren't), don't you just LOVE this? It's my favorite costume from the entire movie :) Died when I saw it, then, somehow, came back to life, obviously...

Alice, totally rocking this loose, fairy-like maxi dress that is just PERFECT for wondering through forests and weird jungle-gardens. *insert sarcasm here*
Must admit though, the ties that synch the waist make me go crazy with envy and love.
Red Queen outfits (other than one on far right, which is what Alice wore when being DISGUISED as someone who supported the Red Queen. Sense the cleverness?)

First two on the left: White Queen attire. Center: Mad Hatter. Two on the far right: Not really sure, but aren't they gorgeous? Gothic ballerinas, don't you agree?

Alice, wearing her simple blue dress, unaware of the hole she will fall through. Lovin' that shade of blue, by the way.

Alice's Red Queen supporter dress, and then a random dress Alice was wearing at the tea party, I think, but it wasn't gray, it was blue, but really like the gray because it makes me think of some kind of ballerina from outer space that likes to garden.

Do you recognize this dress? I DO. Doesn't this look JUST like the gray dress above? I think yes. This. Is. Gorgeous.

it's almost tomorrow

So me, being the night loving person I am, have decided to write a blog post at basically 12:00 in the morning. For those of you wondering why I was up so late, I was watching the last few episodes of Degrassi High, which, until I finished the last season, was my guilty pleasure. Now, due to the fact that I've finished watching Degrassi Junior High, and Degrassi High, all I care about at the moment is watching Degrassi: The Next Generation, and The Kids of Degrassi Street, which I will probably have to rent from Netflix. Okay, NOW, moving on from that mini-monologue I just wrote about my obsession with Degrassi, here is an outfit of mine. This picture is actually from like, a year ago, but due to the fact that I don't have any that are more recent, and due to the fact that I LIKE these pictures, it will have to due until later today. Anyway, no more blabbering from me. Here is the outfit.

Shirt from Forever21, short from Forever21, shoes from walgreens, hat from my mom, sunglasses from the dollar store.

easter bird

I can honestly say I almost died when I saw this collection on vogue.com.... Christian Dior basically included everything from easter-y cupcakes, to some crazy combination of butterflies to birds to peacocks to mermaids, and then some crazy twist on wedding dresses from outer space! This was all in his fall couture 2011 collection and I loved it to death! I even felt like I was brought back to my own mental comfort zone when I saw some looks that reminded me ofAlice in Wonderland. Not only that, but I was relatively pleased to see these crazy geometric hats that were popping out of a modern bee-hive hair style.

Here are the wedding dresses from outer space. The first outfit screams ALICE IN WONDERLAND whenever I look at it.

These would definitely be what I call the easter-y cupcakes.

I'm not really sure how to classify these, but these definitely remind me of caramel and soft pillows.

I'd call these the *butterfly mermaid peacock bird" inspired designs.

Day 1

Well, to start, my name is Eva (ee-vuh), and I am 15. I love fashion, and I have for a long time. Being a fashion blogger is something I've wanted to do for a while, and since I've finally got a tripod, and a long summer ahead, I've decided to finally start. I'll be posting pictures of my outfits soon, so I hope you comment and follow, and enjoy :)
